The user-friendly interface of programs such as Storybird allows students to concentrate more on the content of their e-books rather than the minutia of physically assembling a book. Also such a platform allows students to review each other's work, but also provides the teacher with administrative privileges.
In this example, students had to create first the framework of their children's e-books by filling out a Google Online form I created, to provide a coherent structure to their story. Then using various art work available on Story Bird, they created their own e-books. Finally, they were able to share their stories and comment on each other's work.
