Exploring and reporting
If the world has "shrunk" it does not mean it has become an easier place to navigate. In this project, I wanted students to realize the key differences between an American urban environment and a French one. Using Voice Thread as a platform for their work, students used Google Maps to virtually explore the differences between their neighborhood and a French one.
Touring a French City
In this example, I asked my students to choose a city and more specifically a neighborhood they would choose to live in. Then, I asked them to identify the pros of such a neighborhood and what made it attractive to live in (reviewing the vocabulary of the city while providing a context to use it). Finally, using Voice Thread they created informercials to present their "neighborhoods."
